When we ask how many rehabs people have done, when they are asking about the rehab we run here... some people talk about five day detoxes or a hospital detox. That's not treatment, they just helped support the person medically while they came off a drug. The alcohol industry serves those who want to drink, obviously. And I really don't have an objection to some alcohol consumption. But realize that the bulk of alcohol is drunk by those with drinking problems. And then realize that underage drinkers constitute many millions of dollars of profit for alcoholic beverage companies. And realize that these companies go out of their way to entice

When people get addicted to alcohol, it's different from most drugs. They have to withdraw gradually. Going cold turkey works for some drugs but when a person has been consuming too much alcohol for too long, then they have to taper off. It's kind of odd for me to think of a person going to a detox and getting given alcohol. But the body gets so adjusted to the alcohol that it can't detox too
