Drying out is not rehab

When we ask how many rehabs people have done, when they are asking about the rehab we run here... some people talk about five day detoxes or a hospital detox. That's not treatment, they just helped support the person medically while they came off a drug. There's a lot of services that are offered in this area, addiction treatment, that are not really treatment at all. Real treatment should enable the person to live drug-free after treatment has been completed. I only know of two places that even come close to that. The rest I think are giving shoddy service.
